J.J

I want to start off my blog with one of the most important things in my life, my dog J.J. J.J is a schnauzer-chihuahua mix, that I got when he was two months old back in 2011. I had been begging my parents to own a dog my entire life, and finally it took 18 years to convince them. I’m going to be honest, when I first saw him I thought he was the ugliest little dog. His coat was matte, he had fleas, and had an awful smell. However seeing the conditions he was living in made me think, this dog needs me. To this day, that is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

J.J changed my life more than what I could of ever imagined. When my friends texted me if I wanted to go out and party, most of the time I would say no; as staying home with J.J was way more enjoyable than going out. Whenever I’m feeling down, or my anxiety kicks in, he is my therapy. Is as if he knows something is not right, and lets me now everything is going to be okay. With his big heart and sassy attitude, he won my family’s heart instantly. Well, my dad is still trying to warm up to him.

Being a full time college student and volunteering at multiple places, can be quite stressful. During the day when I keep myself busy I do not miss J.J as much as I do at night. For four years he slept in my bed next to my feet. Sometimes I go back home just to see my fur baby, of course I do not tell my parents this as they probably would not fill up my gas tank.

It is shocking how a little four legged creature full of love and energy can make such a huge impact on my life. He makes me think that I am the most awesome person in the world and that I have no flaws. He pushes me to strive my best at school, so I can buy him all the lavish toys and treats in a few years. As one of my favorite quotes says, ” whoever said diamonds are a girls best friend, never owned a dog”.
